Unit 57 Photographic and Photography Practice

Photography is the art or practice of taking and processing photographs. It can be used in many ways. One basic way is that we use it to communicate with others. We use it to tell a story within a story. People have many perspectives of photography. My perspective is that it creates an question. Like 'what is this telling me' or 'how does this show emotions'.  These questions get us more interested into the world of photography. People like to express photography in anyway possible. People use it to create a work of art. Others use it as a scientific point.

When communicating using photography, you tend to explore the features listed inside the photo. For example, artists like to explore the nature of the photo. The photo gives a categorised story within the photo. Other artists like to create the perfect photo. This gives the impression of their status to the viewers of the photo. People may feel that the photo relates to them. Or they might feel that it tells us the nature of mankind.

Expression is a powerful feature in photography. Just the slightest emotion can give a whole new perspective on it.

For example, this photo can tell us many things. The expression on the face of this women may show pride and dignity. Saying that she is relived of something inside of her and that she won't let anyone take that away. If her facial expression was turned to us, we can change our perspective of the women in a flash.

As well as art, people use photography for science. They show the phenomenon in a photo and how something shown can exist. Some photos can change history and people's thoughts on certain aspects in life. They can be shown in several categories. Medical, ophthalmic, forensic, industrial, biology, chemistry, physics and geology. In conclusion, all photographs vary. But they can all create a outstanding atmosphere around us that intoxicate us in the world of photography.
